This two-year project was the result of a grant given to the Northwest Hills Council of Governments by the state to support the 8 towns of Northwest Connecticut. We started by visiting each of the towns to find out what there was to see and do from a tourist perspective. We revamped the branding and crafted a website that was focused on original content, updated every month with fresh information and gorgeous photos. We created a robust social media presence that was consistently updated. Not only did we push tourism information out, we found that tourists and locals alike were eagerly sharing information and experiences with us. Regular PR to the state tourism board and regional papers and blogs led to greatly increased traffic to the site and to successful events.
